Incheon regional industrial and cultural initiatives

Overview

Incheon Metropolitan City continues to advance its industrial and cultural promotion efforts through diverse regional initiatives.

On the industrial and educational front, the Incheon Global Campus (IGC) organized a field visit to STATS ChipPAC Korea for approximately 90 students and graduates. This visit, following a prior memorandum of understanding, allowed participants to observe semiconductor back-end processes and receive career mentoring in advanced packaging sectors for AI and autonomous driving. Additionally, Incheon National University and the SSG Landers hosted an event for roughly 470 foreign residents and multicultural families at SSG Landers Field to foster community belonging.

Cultural initiatives remain focused on resident engagement. The Ongjin Cultural Center is hosting the ‘Bukdo-myeon Sea Road Time Travel - Living Culture Exhibition’ at Sinsimodo Treasure Island from October 7 to 8. This resident-led exhibition features themes such as fishing tools and sea photography, accompanied by resident docents and musical performances. Furthermore, the Incheon Seohae-gu Cultural Foundation is implementing its ‘Practice Project’ from October to November, offering 15 art education programs. These workshops address community archives and emotional healing, covering topics such as grief, infertility, and menopause.

These activities complement the city’s ongoing efforts to promote advanced industries—including bio-clusters, semiconductors, and robotics—to international audiences via the ‘Incheon Jichang’ quarterly newsletter.
