Incheon Inner Harbor Pier Operation wins Grand Prize for port safety management

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries held the first ‘Safety Management Best Practice Contest’ to promote a culture of autonomous safety management across national trade ports. Four businesses were selected for awards based on their exemplary safety protocols.

Incheon Inner Harbor Pier Operation Co., Ltd. received the Grand Prize for transitioning from a reactive safety system to a proactive, worker-participatory prevention system. The company implemented a mechanism where employees identify and report hazards, supported by a reward system for accident-free periods. This approach resulted in 140 identified and improved risk factors.

Other award recipients included Hansol Logistics Gunsan Branch, which won the Excellence Award for improving work environments through fall prevention and motion sensors. Dongbang Ulsan Branch and HMM PSA Shin Hangman Co., Ltd. received Excellence Awards for their phased safety facility expansions and advanced monitoring systems, respectively.

Awarded companies receive commendations from the Minister of Oceans and Fisheries and various incentives, such as increased government support rates for disaster prevention facility investments.
