Incheon Namdong-gu Kkumdeurim youth win top prize for AI gambling prevention policy
Youth from the Namdong-gu Kkumdeurim Center, a support center for out-of-school adolescents, have won the grand prize at the 11th Incheon Youth Policy Proposal Forum. Their winning proposal, titled ‘D-Trap’ (Gambling Trap), utilizes artificial intelligence to combat youth gambling addiction.
The proposed policy moves away from traditional lecture-based education toward an experiential platform. It allows participants to use educational virtual money to experience the psychological risks of gambling, such as the urge to recover lost funds and the dangers of repetitive participation. Following the simulation, an AI system analyzes the user's behavior to provide personalized reports for the individual, their school, or relevant institutions to facilitate customized prevention training.
This marks the second consecutive year the center's youth have received major recognition at the forum. Last year, they received an excellence award for ‘Mind Bus Stop,’ a policy focused on utilizing Incheon's natural environment for youth emotional recovery and leisure.
