Incheon National University wins Minister of Education Award for biotech cooperation

Incheon National University's Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation has received the Minister of Education Award at the 2026 Industry-Academic Cooperation Excellence Case Competition. The award recognizes the successful technical cooperation between Professor Lee Won-jong’s biotechnology research team and Daebong LS Co., Ltd.

The collaboration focused on the commercialization of plant-derived exosome technology. By applying the team’s original technology regarding red cabbage-derived exosomes to Daebong LS’s production lines, the partners established mass production and quality control systems. This process successfully transitioned research-stage technology into actual commercial products.

Key achievements of the partnership include the development of two additional types of plant-derived exosome raw materials, domestic patent filings, and PCT international applications. Furthermore, the developed materials have obtained Ecocert COSMOS Approved certification and have been registered on the DKSH global distribution platform, facilitating entry into international markets.
