Incheon to expand airport and urban seated bus routes by 2027

Incheon Metropolitan City has announced plans to expand its seated bus network to improve accessibility between Incheon International Airport and urban areas, as well as to strengthen connections between major residential districts and railway stations. The expansion aims to introduce four new routes and 33 additional buses, with operations scheduled to begin in the second half of 2027.

The plan includes two new airport-linked routes: one connecting Bullo and Ara-dong in Geomdan-gu to Incheon International Airport Terminal 2 via Gyesan Station (8 buses), and another connecting Seochang-dong in Namdong-gu to Terminal 2 via Yonghyeon and Hagik-dong (10 buses).

Additionally, two new direct seated bus routes will connect urban hubs: one from Bullo and Ara-dong to Incheon Terminal via Seongnam Station (8 buses), and another from Nonhyeon-dong in Namdong-gu to Sangok Station via Namdong Industrial Park Station (7 buses).

Once implemented, the total number of airport-linked seated bus routes will increase from 11 to 13, with the fleet growing from 138 to 156 vehicles. The city intends to finalize detailed plans in the second half of 2026 and hold a public tender for transport operators in the first half of 2027.
