Incheon to host resident-led cultural festivals on Baengnyeong Island

Incheon Metropolitan City and the Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture, in collaboration with the Ongjin Cultural Center, will host the ‘Baengnyeong Green Festa’ and ‘Yogijogi Concert’ on Baengnyeong Island on the 29th.

These events aim to provide customized cultural programs to island residents who face limited access to arts and culture due to geographic constraints. The ‘Baengnyeong Green Festa’ is a resident-led initiative where local planning groups have participated in the organization process to reflect the unique characteristics of the island. The program will include resident band performances, exhibitions, and various hands-on experience programs.

The ‘Yogijogi Concert’ will feature a pre-performance by the classical guitar group ‘Arc Guitar Ensemble’. Additionally, a resident talk concert titled ‘Bukdo-myeon Sea Road Time Travel’ is scheduled for the 26th at the Bukdo-myeon National Sports Center. These initiatives are part of the ‘Culture Everywhere’ project supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to expand cultural enjoyment across various regions.
