Incidents in Tokat and Kayseri involve animal deaths and youth violence
In Tokat's Niksar district, a livestock farmer discovered several of his animals killed in the Akpınar Plateau. Şanveren Onayrılı, who has grazed animals in the area for 45 years, found 10 water buffalo and one donkey dead with their bodies torn apart near a stream. Three other large animals remain missing. While the exact predator is unconfirmed, the owner reported seeing a bear and two wolves in the vicinity. Local authorities, including the Gendarmerie and the Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, have launched an investigation and installed camera traps to identify the wildlife responsible.
Separately, in Kayseri's Melikgazi district, a violent altercation involving minors occurred in a public park. A 15-year-old suspect reportedly attacked three other youths, aged between 15 and 17, with a knife following a verbal dispute. One victim sustained a life-threatening wound to the heart, while two others suffered serious back injuries. The injured individuals were transported to various hospitals, including Erciyes University Medical Faculty Hospital, for emergency treatment. Police have launched a search for the suspect.
