Inclusive Junina Festival 'Arraiá da Inclusão' Draws Thousands in Natal and Offers Free Shows in Rio
The inclusive Junina festival "Arraiá da Inclusão" staged a free performance in Rio de Janeiro's Tijuca neighbourhood on Friday, 31 July. The show began at 19:00 at Rua Conde de Bonfim 1281, lasted 30 minutes and was open to the public without charge. Organized by Joana Seibel Machado, the cast of 25 artists—including Jaque Winter, Ronaldo Duarte, Fernando Mattos and others—highlighted participation by people with disabilities (PcD) and seniors over 60.
In Natal, the third edition of the same festival took place on Saturday, 25 July at the Bosque das Mangueiras, drawing more than a thousand attendees. The event was coordinated by the Natal municipal government together with the Autism Mandate of councilor Daniel Santiago. Visitors enjoyed cultural acts by Banda Cítrika, singer Fabinho Miranda and the duo Bisteca e Bochechinha, as well as a range of inclusive services such as disability parking cards, identification cards for people with disabilities and autism, job‑placement assistance, tree distribution, an inclusive craft fair, sensory activities and free animal adoption.
