INDAP celebrates 10 years of Mercados Campesinos program

The Instituto de Desarrollo Agropecuario (INDAP) celebrated the 10th anniversary of its Mercados Campesinos program at Plaza Perú in Las Condes. The initiative, which began in 2016 in Colina, was designed to allow small-scale farmers to sell products directly to the community through short circuits, eliminating intermediaries.

The program has expanded significantly and now maintains a network of 220 permanent and seasonal sales points across all regions of Chile. These markets provide a commercial platform for 3,012 participating farmers, a group that includes 2,454 women (81%), 710 members of indigenous peoples, and 211 individuals under the age of 40.
