India accelerates semiconductor and clean‑energy push following Modi’s global tour

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India is on track to become a developed nation by 2047, emphasizing large‑scale investment in semiconductors, clean energy, green hydrogen, critical minerals and sustainable manufacturing. He announced that a complete semiconductor manufacturing supply chain is being built in the country, with ten major units expected to compete globally, and highlighted the role of Indian youth in driving these sectors.

During the 19th Rozgar Mela, over 51,000 appointment letters were handed out to new public‑sector recruits, underscoring the government's employment‑generation drive. Modi also reported that recent bilateral talks with Sweden, Norway, Italy, the United Arab Emirates and the Netherlands resulted in agreements on artificial intelligence, defence, green technology, maritime cooperation and critical minerals, reflecting growing international interest in India’s youth and technology agenda.
