India and Denmark agree to strengthen MSME and innovation cooperation

India and Denmark have agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation regarding micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) development, innovation, and intellectual property. This agreement was reached during the fourth meeting of their Joint Working Group (JWG) held in Copenhagen.

The discussions focused on several key areas, including technology adoption, entrepreneurship, technology commercialization, and cluster-based MSME development. The meeting served as a platform for both nations to exchange perspectives on their respective innovation ecosystems and explore opportunities for deeper institutional cooperation.

As part of the engagement, the Indian delegation visited the Aarhus University Innovation ‘Kitchen’ and the Agro Food Park to study Denmark’s business cluster ecosystems and innovation support models. These visits facilitated exchanges on mentoring, industry–academia linkages, and startup support. The delegation also participated in the Nordic–India Startup Summit 2026 to interact with stakeholders within the Nordic innovation ecosystem.
