India and Europe Startup Funding Rises in Week of July 9

India’s startup ecosystem showed renewed strength in the week ended July 9, with 18 financing rounds delivering a total of $219.2 million. Late‑stage deals dominated, accounting for $167.7 million (about 76% of the total), and data‑center operator Yotta led the pack with a single $150 million raise.

In Europe, tech funding activity topped €2.8 billion across more than 70 deals. Notable rounds included Nscale’s £670 million credit facility, Lendable’s $670 million expansion funding, and Proxima Fusion’s record‑breaking €411 million raise for fusion technology. The week also featured several acquisitions and strategic investments across the UK, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Denmark and Sweden.

Both regions displayed a clear preference for larger, later‑stage investments, indicating investors are prioritising firms with proven business models and scalable revenue streams while remaining selective on early‑stage opportunities.
