India's Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said the India‑France partnership is gaining fresh momentum across technology, innovation and strategic sectors. During a visit to Nice he hosted a dinner with the mayor, met French business leaders and toured Sophia Antipolis, Europe’s largest science‑tech hub, to promote deep‑tech collaboration.

The two governments are adopting the India‑France Innovation Roadmap 2030, aiming to co‑develop critical technologies, boost academic mobility and deliver concrete outcomes for people and the planet. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent talks with President Emmanuel Macron elevated ties to a Special Global Strategic Partnership, covering defence, space, security, counter‑terrorism and innovation.

India’s Bharat Innovates 2026 event in Nice showcased 120 startups and over 20 research institutes, attracting more than 350 global investors, underscoring growing international interest in India’s expanding innovation ecosystem.
