India and Italy Air Chiefs Meet in New Delhi to Boost Defence Cooperation

Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Chief of the Air Staff of India, met with Lieutenant General Antonio Conserva, Chief of Staff of the Italian Air Force, in New Delhi on 29 June 2026. The two senior officers discussed ways to deepen defence cooperation and increase military‑to‑military engagement, and Conserva paid respects at the National War Memorial.

The talks follow Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent two‑day visit to Italy, during which India and Italy elevated their relationship to a Special Strategic Partnership. Both sides agreed to hold annual leader meetings, regular ministerial dialogues, and to expand collaboration across trade, defence, science, technology, space, energy, artificial intelligence and critical technologies. The meeting culminated in the signing of a Joint Declaration of Intent and an Industrial Roadmap for co‑design, co‑development and co‑production of defence products.
