India and New Zealand set to sign free-trade pact to boost bilateral trade

The reports indicate India and New Zealand are scheduled to sign a free-trade pact, with one account noting the signing on April 27 and another describing it as taking place on Monday. The agreement would provide Indian companies duty-free access to New Zealand markets and is expected to bring in $20 billion of investment over the next 15 years. The pact aims to deepen economic links between the two countries and expand market access for goods and services.

In addition to broader market access, the deal includes provisions for India to receive more temporary employment visas and easier access for pharmaceuticals and medical devices, enhancing capabilities for Indian industries and improving cross-border supply chains.
