India and Poland agree to deepen MSME cooperation
Senior officials from India's Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and a high‑level Polish delegation led by Deputy Minister Michał Baranowski met in New Delhi on July 15 to discuss expanding cooperation in the MSME sector.
Indian MSME Secretary Bharat Khera emphasized that the country has over 86 million registered MSMEs, contributing nearly 30 % of GDP, more than one‑third of manufacturing output, and supporting the livelihoods of around 330 million people. He outlined flagship programmes such as the Udyam Registration Portal, the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro & Small Enterprises, Technology Centres and the Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) initiative, all aimed at digital transformation, innovation and sustainable manufacturing.
Khera noted that Poland is India's largest trading and investment partner in Central and Eastern Europe, with bilateral trade tripling since 2025, and expressed confidence that the recently concluded India‑EU Free Trade Agreement will further boost trade and investment. The Polish side reaffirmed its commitment to deepen institutional partnerships, promote business‑to‑business engagement, and build on ongoing cooperation between India's National Small Industries Corporation and Poland's Agency for Enterprise Development.
