India and Singapore expand cooperation in semiconductors and clean energy

India and Singapore have agreed to expand bilateral cooperation following the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) held in Singapore. Discussions between high-level delegations focused on deepening ties in advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, digital connectivity, fintech, skilling, the green economy, and clean energy.

In addition to sectoral cooperation, the two nations signed memorandums of understanding regarding maritime heritage, food safety, and telecommunications. The meeting included prominent officials such as India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong.

Parallel to these diplomatic efforts, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, Temasek, continues to show strong investment activity in the Indian market. Temasek-backed companies recently saw successful stock market debuts in India, including the logistics platform Shiprocket, which listed at a 35 per cent premium over its IPO price, and the dairy company Milky Mist Dairy Food.
