India and US begin 22nd Yudh Abhyas joint military exercise

The 22nd edition of the Yudh Abhyas joint military exercise between the Indian and United States armies has commenced. The drills are being held simultaneously at the Auli Foreign Training Node in Uttarakhand and the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan.

With 600 personnel participating from each side, the exercise focuses on enhancing the joint military capability of both armies to employ Integrated Battle Groups in mountainous and semi-mountainous terrain. The training emphasizes infantry-dominated operations, interoperability, and the exchange of best operational practices.

A key focus of this edition is technology infusion. Training modules include the use of drones and autonomous systems for surveillance and reconnaissance, alongside demonstrations of contemporary weapon systems. Subject matter experts from both nations will also discuss emerging technologies and developments in multi-domain warfare to strengthen the bilateral defense partnership.
