India announces Davis Cup squad for South Korea qualifier

India has announced its squad for the upcoming Davis Cup Qualifiers second-round tie against South Korea, scheduled for September 18-19 in Seoul. The team will largely retain the core group that secured a historic 3-2 victory over the Netherlands in February.

Sumit Nagal, ranked 235th, will lead the singles contingent alongside Dhakshineswar Suresh and Manas Dhamne, who receives his first maiden call-up to the main squad. The doubles pairing will consist of Yuki Bhambri and N Sriram Balaji. Siddharth Rawat and Arnav Paparkar have been named as reserves.

The tie, held on hard courts at the Olympic Tennis Centre, carries significant stakes: the winner will earn a place in the Davis Cup Final 8 in Bologna, Italy, this November. This represents India's first appearance in the second round of the Qualifiers since the tournament format was revamped in 2019.
