India auto market adds Tata sedan facelifts and Hyundai Bayon SUV launch
Tata Motors is preparing major updates for its compact Tigor sedan and the electric Tigor.ev. The facelifts will feature a refreshed front end inspired by Tata’s latest design language, larger touchscreen infotainment, digital instrument cluster, additional safety equipment and, for the Tigor, the existing 1.2‑litre petrol engine with a CNG option. The Tigor.ev is expected to retain its 26 kWh battery while adopting EV‑specific styling cues.
Skoda is also set to refresh its Slavia mid‑size sedan with revised LED headlamps, new bumpers, alloy wheels and upgraded interior features, while keeping its current 1.0‑litre and 1.5‑litre TSI engines.
Meanwhile, Hyundai India has been testing the globally‑designed Bayon SUV, positioned between the Venue and Creta. Spy images show the Bayon’s new “Sensuous Sportiness” design language, split headlamps, a wide cascading grille, roof rails, body cladding and connected LED taillights. Inside, a 10.25‑inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and Level‑2 ADAS (including front collision avoidance, lane‑keep assist and adaptive cruise control) are expected.
These launches aim to broaden affordable sedan options while expanding the SUV lineup in a market increasingly dominated by crossover vehicles.
