India automakers Maruti Suzuki and Mahindra preview new 2026 SUV models
Maruti Suzuki is testing a facelift of its sub‑compact Brezza SUV ahead of a 2026 launch. Spy images suggest subtle design updates and a major powertrain change, with the addition of a 1.0‑L three‑cylinder Boosterjet turbo‑petrol engine producing 100 PS and 147.6 Nm of torque. The model is expected to gain an advanced driver‑assistance system (ADAS) indicated by a radar unit in the front grille, a possible under‑body CNG tank, a larger 10.1‑inch infotainment screen, head‑up display, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, panoramic sunroof, 360‑degree camera and other premium features, while retaining the existing 1.5‑L naturally aspirated engine and CNG option. A modest price increase is also anticipated.
Mahindra is unveiling its Vision S concept, a compact SUV positioned between the XUV3XO and Scorpio N. The concept showcases a boxy silhouette, large digital infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof and Level‑2 ADAS. Powertrain options under consideration include a 1.2‑L turbo‑petrol mStallion engine and a 1.5‑L diesel, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. The vehicle is aimed at both Indian and global markets and is expected to launch next year.
