India celebrates Narendra Modi’s birthday with nationwide lamp-lighting events

Various programs and celebrations are being organized across India to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. Under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ and ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiatives, citizens are encouraged to light lamps at homes, temples, and public spaces. Notable planned events include the lighting of approximately 100,000 lamps at Kartavya Path in Delhi, 5.8 million lamps in Madhya Pradesh led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, and 3.6 million lamps in Chhattisgarh.

In Delhi, the occasion will also coincide with the inauguration and foundation stone laying of various development projects valued at approximately 13,820 crore rupees. The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ is scheduled to run until October 17, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the Prime Minister’s public and governance career.

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah extended his greetings, describing the Prime Minister’s leadership as a symbol of dedication and foresight. Shah highlighted several key policy achievements under the current administration, including the revocation of Article 370, efforts against terrorism, infrastructure development in the Northeast and Kashmir, and economic growth that has positioned India as one of the world’s fastest-growing major economies.
