India commissions three indigenous warships, including stealth frigate INS Dunagiri

India's Navy received three new warships from Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) as part of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat programme. The vessels – stealth frigate INS Dunagiri, survey vessel INS Sanshodhak and anti‑submarine shallow‑water craft INS Agray – were delivered together on 31 March and are slated for commissioning in Kolkata on 21 June by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

INS Dunagiri, a Project‑17A guided‑missile frigate, measures 149 m and 6,670 tonnes, and is equipped with BrahMos anti‑ship and land‑attack cruise missiles, advanced AESA radar and integrated combat systems. INS Sanshodhak, a 110‑m survey ship, can conduct coastal and deep‑water hydrographic surveys and support humanitarian missions. INS Agray, a 77‑m shallow‑water ASW craft, carries lightweight torpedoes, anti‑submarine rockets and a 30 mm naval gun. The delivery marks GRSE's 118th warship for the Indian Navy, underscoring the country's growing indigenous defence capability.
