The shipments include 390,516 small‑arms parts, 564,970 explosive‑ordnance components (such as drone warheads and artillery shell casings) and 298 vehicle components. Several exporters are state‑owned defence companies directly owned and controlled by the Indian government. Amnesty says the exports pose a “substantial risk” of being used in Israel’s ongoing military operations in Gaza, which the group describes as genocide, and cites the International Court of Justice’s 2024 provisional measures that recognize a plausible risk of genocide in Gaza. The organization urges New Delhi to halt authorisations of such exports. India’s Ministry of External Affairs responded that its arms exports are carried out under a “robust legal and regulatory framework” consistent with national and international obligations.
