India: Draft electoral rolls released in Delhi and Sindhudurg

Authorities in Delhi and Sindhudurg have released draft electoral rolls following Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercises.

In Delhi, the draft roll excludes approximately 47.56 lakh names, representing nearly 33 per cent of the total electorate. Exclusions were based on categories such as deceased voters, shifted residences, absences, duplicate entries, or other unspecified reasons. Eligible voters missing from the list can apply for inclusion using Form 6, which can be submitted online or offline during the claims and objections period.

In the Sindhudurg district, the draft roll records just over 6.05 lakh registered voters across 921 polling stations. The administration reported that more than 82,000 entries were deleted during the verification process due to death, permanent migration, duplicate entries, or ineligibility. The district is divided into three constituencies: Kankavli, Kudal, and Sawantwadi. Citizens have until September 30, 2026, to submit claims or objections, with the final electoral roll expected to be published on November 4, 2026.
