India engineering exports rise 18% to $12.24 billion in July
India's engineering exports rose by 18% year-on-year in July 2026, reaching $12.24 billion. This marks the fourth consecutive month that engineering shipments have exceeded the $10 billion threshold.
Between April and July 2026, cumulative engineering exports reached $46.38 billion, an 18.21% increase compared to $39.24 billion during the same period last year. The engineering sector accounted for 27.7% of India's total merchandise exports during this four-month window.
The United States remains the largest market for Indian engineering goods, with July exports to the US growing 20% to $2.18 billion. China also showed significant demand, with July exports increasing by 32% to $349 million. While growth was observed in 27 out of 34 major categories, some sectors, including iron and steel, machine tools, and aircraft parts, experienced declines.
