India expands maritime and rail logistics connectivity
The Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has launched a new rail freight service connecting Ennore Port within the Kamarajar Port cluster to ICD Sanathnagar in Hyderabad. This dedicated rail corridor is designed to provide a faster, more cost-effective, and sustainable alternative to road transport for moving containerized cargo between the east coast and the Deccan plateau.
Concurrently, the Chennai Port Authority held a stakeholder meeting chaired by Sachin S. Kurve to coordinate with shipping lines. The discussion focused on enhancing the efficiency of export cargo movement and addressing the operational requirements of the maritime and logistics ecosystem to strengthen the region's global trade connectivity.
