India extends deadlines for electoral roll enumeration and child award nominations
The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for submitting SIR enumeration forms for the electoral roll update in Telangana to August 10. The house‑to‑house enumeration, which began on June 25, was originally set to finish on July 24 and later extended to August 3. Draft electoral rolls are now scheduled for publication on August 17, with the final rolls to be released on October 19.
The Ministry of Women and Child Development also announced that online nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2026 have been extended from July 31 to August 15. The award recognises Indian children aged 5‑18 for achievements in bravery, social service, environment, sports, arts & culture, and science & technology. Nominations must be submitted through the National Awards Portal.
Both extensions aim to give citizens additional time to participate in these government programmes.
