Overview

In late July 2026, the Election Commission of India (ECI) extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) deadline in Telangana to 10 August, moving the draft roll to 17 August and the final roll to 19 October. The Ministry of Women and Child Development also extended online nominations for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar to 15 August.

On 4 August, the Commission revised the SIR timetable for Delhi, setting draft rolls for 24 August and final rolls for 27 October. Simultaneously, the ECI announced further extensions in Maharashtra, pushing the field-verification deadline to 17 August. In Uttarakhand, officials were served notices as Booth Level Officers conducted door-to-door verification, though residents in Dehradun reported receiving notices without sufficient explanation of required documentation. In Jharkhand, a draft roll omitted 4.36 million names, with a re-inclusion window open until 4 September. SVEEP awareness events were held in Mon, Nagaland, to promote clean rolls.

By late August, schedules shifted again. In Maharashtra, following a request from the Chief Electoral Officer, the draft roll publication was moved to 31 August, with a claims window until 30 September and a final roll date of 4 November. In Telangana, following the 17 August draft roll release, AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi urged citizens to use the verification window ending 17 September to submit corrections or Form 6 via Booth Level Officers if names were missing.
