India-France Defense Ties Strengthened as Air Chief AP Singh Visits Paris

Air Chief Marshal AP Singh of the Indian Air Force completed a three‑day official visit to France, meeting senior French defence officials including General Jérôme Bellange and General Vincent Giro. The talks focused on expanding operational cooperation, joint training, technology exchange and future partnership frameworks.

The visit coincided with intensified negotiations on a proposed government‑to‑government deal for 114 Rafale fighter jets, valued at about 3.25 lakh crore rupees. India issued a Letter of Request on 1 June, with plans for 94 of the aircraft to be manufactured in India by Dassault Aviation in partnership with an Indian firm, underscoring the "Make in India" thrust for defence production.
