India implements administrative transfers of IPS and IFS officers

The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered the transfer of several Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the Delhi cadre to Jammu and Kashmir. Five officers, including Vishnu Kumar, Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, Deepak Yadav, Anand Kumar Mishra, and Satish Kumar, are scheduled to be relieved from their duties in Delhi on August 17, 2026, to begin their new assignments.

This movement is part of a broader reshuffle involving 13 other IPS and DANIPS officers being moved from Delhi to various Union Territories and north-eastern states, including Chandigarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Mizoram, and Lakshadweep.

In Rajasthan, the state government has implemented a significant reshuffle within the Forest Department, transferring 69 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers. Arijit Banerjee has been appointed as the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force (PCCF-HoFF). Additionally, Shailja Deval has been named Secretary of the Environment and Climate Change Department and Member Secretary of the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority.
