India implements new LPG delivery rules and commercial price hikes

Starting October 1, oil marketing companies in India are implementing new regulations for LPG cylinder deliveries and adjusting commercial pricing.

To enhance transparency and prevent unauthorized deliveries or black marketing, a Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system has been introduced. Consumers must provide a unique OTP sent to their registered mobile number to the delivery agent to complete the transaction. Failure to provide this code may result in stalled deliveries. Additionally, E-KYC processes are being emphasized for maintaining valid connections.

In terms of pricing, oil marketing companies have increased the cost of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders by 62.50 rupees. In Delhi, the price for a commercial cylinder has risen to 2,810 rupees. This hike is expected to impact the operating costs of hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses. However, prices for 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders remain unchanged across major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Patna, and Lucknow.
