India IPO market sees surge with six simultaneous listings and upcoming mega-IPOs

India's primary market is experiencing a surge in activity, highlighted by a rare occurrence where six mainboard companies launched their IPOs on a single day, September 9, 2026. This is the first time since October 1996 that exactly six IPOs have opened for subscription simultaneously. The six companies include Rentomojo, Asset Reconstruction Company (India), Manipal Payment & Identity Solutions, Steamhouse India, LCC Projects, and Karamtara Engineering, with an expected total raise of approximately Rs 4,509 crore.

Looking ahead, the market is bracing for even larger scale offerings. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved upcoming IPOs for Jio Platforms and the National Stock Exchange (NSE). Jio Platforms is expected to seek roughly 37,800 crore rupees (4 billion dollars), potentially making it the largest IPO in Indian corporate history. The NSE is also expected to bring an issue of approximately 30,000 crore rupees to the market. Combined, these two mega-IPOs would seek over 67,000 crore rupees in capital.
