India Launches Corporate Mitra Scheme to Strengthen MSMEs in Tier‑2 and Tier‑3 Cities

The Government of India announced the Corporate Mitra Scheme, a programme aimed at bolstering Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in tier‑2 and tier‑3 cities, with special focus on the North‑Eastern region. The scheme will create a network of trained para‑professionals, called “Corporate Mitras”, to provide affordable compliance, taxation, accounting, financial and governance support, allowing small firms to concentrate on innovation and growth.

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) in Shillong, under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, organised an awareness webinar for youth, students, professionals and entrepreneurs in Arunachal Pradesh. The initiative targets 2,000 participants nationwide, including 200 candidates from the North‑East, who will receive a 50 % fee concession. It is part of the broader vision of a “Viksit Bharat” by 2047, aiming to create jobs and a sustainable, competitive MSME ecosystem across India.
