India Corporate Mitra Scheme for MSMEs

In late July 2026 the Indian government rolled out the Corporate Mitra Scheme, a programme designed to bolster micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in tier‑2 and tier‑3 cities, with a special focus on the North‑Eastern region. An awareness webinar held on 24 July in Arunachal Pradesh, organized by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) with regional academic and professional institutes, introduced the scheme to youths, students, entrepreneurs and professionals. The initiative aims to train a network of “Corporate Mitras” who will deliver affordable compliance, tax, accounting and governance assistance, allowing small firms to concentrate on innovation and growth. The programme targets 2,000 participants nationwide, including 200 from the Northeast, and offers a 50 % fee concession for candidates from that region. Registration for the Corporate Mitra course opened on 15 July and runs through 31 July.
