India Leads BRICS Dialogue and Agriculture Summit in New Delhi and Indore

India, serving as the BRICS chair for 2026, hosted the 11th BRICS Foreign Policy Dialogue in New Delhi. The day‑long meeting brought together policy planning heads and senior representatives from the expanded BRICS membership to discuss resilience, innovation, climate action, energy transition, and reforms of global governance institutions. The Indian delegation was led by Aparna Ray, Joint Secretary for Policy Planning and Research at the Ministry of External Affairs.

A five‑day BRICS summit then moved to Indore, focusing on food security and farmer welfare. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan outlined discussions on smart farming, climate‑resilient agriculture, digital agriculture, AI, robotics, and international agricultural trade. The agenda includes a three‑day agriculture working group (June 9‑11) and a two‑day ministerial meeting (June 12‑13), culminating in a joint declaration among BRICS agriculture ministers.
