India-Lebanon relations reviewed during MEA Secretary visit

Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary at India’s Ministry of External Affairs, conducted a diplomatic visit to Lebanon, Egypt, and Palestine from August 16 to 21. In Beirut, Ranganathan met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional and international developments.

During her time in Lebanon, Ranganathan also met with Abdel Sattar Issa, Secretary General at Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to review bilateral relations and the evolving regional situation. Additionally, she held discussions with Nabih Berri, President of the National Assembly of Lebanon, regarding the potential for parliamentary exchanges to bolster the partnership between the two nations.

In Palestine, Ranganathan participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for a 200-bed Indian Super Speciality Hospital in Jenin, alongside Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa. The project, which includes a trauma center, was formalized through a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding. Ranganathan also signed an MoU with the Ministry of Labour regarding Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the printing sector.
