Narendra Modi celebrates 76th birthday and 25 years in public service
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is celebrating his 76th birthday, marking a significant milestone in his nearly 25-year career in public service. Since becoming Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and later Prime Minister in 2014, Modi has set several records, including becoming the longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister in India.
To commemorate the occasion and his 25 years in public life, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, a month-long nationwide campaign running from September 17 to October 17. The initiative includes various service-oriented activities such as blood donation camps, medical drives, cleanliness campaigns, and the ‘Aashirwad ka Diya’ program, where citizens light lamps to wish the Prime Minister health and longevity.
A major highlight of the celebrations is a massive motorcycle journey connecting Varanasi, the Prime Minister's parliamentary constituency, to his birthplace in Vadnagar, Gujarat. Approximately 500 bikers are participating in this symbolic trek to bridge different stages of his political journey. The campaign also emphasizes the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’, aiming to transform India into a developed nation by its centenary of independence.
