India Monsoon Health Guidance Emphasizes Dengue, Malaria Prevention

India’s health experts warn that the monsoon season creates ideal conditions for mosquito‑borne diseases and other infections. Leading doctors explain that rising cases of dengue, malaria, leptospirosis, typhoid and fungal skin infections are linked to high humidity, stagnant water and poor sanitation.

Key preventive measures include eliminating standing water in flower pots, buckets, tyres and drains, covering water storage tanks, using approved mosquito repellents, wearing long‑sleeved clothing and installing screens or nets, especially for children and the elderly. Experts also advise proper waste disposal and community‑level sanitation.

Nutrition and food safety advice highlights eating seasonal, freshly cooked meals, avoiding uncovered street food, and staying well‑hydrated with warm water, soups or herbal teas to support immunity during the rainy months.
