India police arrest fugitives after 36 and 42 years

Police in India have successfully apprehended two fugitives who had been evading arrest for decades following violent incidents.

In Mumbai, the Borivali police arrested 55-year-old Omprakash Pasi after 36 years on the run. In 1990, during a cricket tournament, Pasi allegedly attacked an umpire with a cricket bat following a disputed LBW decision, causing serious injuries. Police tracked his location in Mira Road using mobile phone technical analysis.

Separately, the Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested 65-year-old Natthu, also known as Nathulal, in connection with a 1984 murder case. The victim, Ashok Kumar, was found dead with knife wounds in a park in West Delhi. Investigators determined that Natthu and an accomplice had killed Kumar following a dispute. After 42 years, the suspect was located and apprehended in Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh.
