Arrest of long-term fugitives in India

In Delhi, the Special Cell arrested 72-year-old Hari Singh Shekhawat, who had been a ‘proclaimed offender’ since 2016. In separate developments, the Borivali police in Mumbai arrested 55-year-old Omprakash Pasi, who had evaded capture for 36 years following a 1990 incident where he allegedly attacked a cricket umpire with a bat. Additionally, the Delhi Police Crime Branch apprehended 65-year-old Natthu in Uttar Pradesh for a 1984 murder case, ending a 42-year search for the suspect.
