India confronts logistics expansion, power‑grid resilience and graduate unemployment challenges

India’s rapid economic growth is exposing gaps across key sectors. A feasibility study by Aviaan highlights that the booming courier and logistics market—driven by e‑commerce, urbanisation and rising consumer expectations—offers strong profit potential but faces intense competition, rising fuel costs, last‑mile delivery complexities and the need for advanced tracking and routing technologies.

At the same time, experts stress that India’s power infrastructure must be built for long‑term resilience. Integrating renewable energy, adopting smart grid controls and deploying compact gas‑insulated substations are seen as essential to meet future demand, safeguard energy security and support sectors such as electric vehicles, data centres and green hydrogen.

Meanwhile, the State of Working India 2026 report reveals a severe graduate‑unemployment crisis. Nearly 40 % of graduates aged 15‑25 and about 20 % of those aged 25‑29 are jobless, with roughly 11 million unemployed graduates in 2023. Only 7 % secure permanent salaried positions within a year, leading many into informal or gig work and raising concerns of “brain waste” amid a higher‑education enrolment surge.

These intertwined issues underscore the need for coordinated policy, investment and skill‑development strategies to ensure that India’s growth translates into sustainable employment and reliable infrastructure.
