India and Singapore sign pacts to deepen strategic and economic ties

India and Singapore have strengthened their bilateral ties through the fourth India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable (ISMR) held in Singapore. The high-level dialogue resulted in the signing of two memorandums of understanding and one letter of intent aimed at enhancing cooperation in telecommunications, broadcasting regulations, food safety, and maritime heritage.

Delegations from both nations reviewed progress across six key pillars: advanced manufacturing, connectivity, digitalization, healthcare and medicine, skills development, and sustainability. In the telecommunications sector, Singapore’s Infocomm Media Development Authority and the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India agreed to cooperate on spectrum management and consumer protection.

The Indian delegation included Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Minister of State Jitin Prasada. The Singaporean delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong. Additionally, ministers from both countries laid the foundation stone for a new Indian High Commission chancery complex in Singapore, signaling a new phase in their comprehensive strategic partnership.
