Piyush Goyal leads India‑EU trade push on Europe tour
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal is heading a high‑level Indian business delegation on a five‑day tour of Spain, Belgium and Finland from 13 – 17 July 2026. The mission aims to deepen India‑EU economic ties and accelerate the conclusion of the India‑EU Free Trade Agreement. In Spain, Goyal will meet Vice‑President and Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo, Industry Minister Jordi Hereu and Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares, and chair an India‑Spain business roundtable with leading Spanish firms. In Belgium, he will visit the Port of Antwerp and the Antwerp World Diamond Centre and hold CEO‑level talks with Thales Group and Silox. In Brussels, he will co‑chair the third India‑EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) ministerial meeting. In Finland, he will meet Economic Affairs Minister Sakari Puisto and join an India‑Finland business roundtable. Goyal has urged a trade target far beyond the previously discussed seven‑fold growth, proposing a ten‑fold increase in bilateral trade and investment over the next decade, and highlighted opportunities in advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital technologies, gems, food processing and other sectors.
