India expands AI integration across manufacturing, healthcare, and education

Artificial intelligence is seeing widespread integration across various sectors in India, ranging from industrial manufacturing to education and healthcare.

In the industrial sector, Shodh AI, supported by the IndiaAI Mission, has developed LUCAN, a Physical AI foundation model. The model is designed to bridge the gap between molecular-scale research and large-scale manufacturing by reasoning through physical constraints like heat transfer and flow changes.

In healthcare, AI tools are being deployed for disease screening, such as acoustic AI for tuberculosis and retinal-image screening for diabetic retinopathy. Digital health infrastructure, including the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, supports these advancements.

In education, India has emerged as OpenAI’s largest student market for ChatGPT. The company has provided over 100,000 ChatGPT Edu licenses to various Indian institutions, including IIM Ahmedabad and AIIMS New Delhi.

Additionally, Intellect Design Arena Ltd. has launched MSOCK, an AI-native engineering system designed to provide enterprise-level context to AI, helping it understand complex business processes and institutional knowledge.
