India to implement new travel and financial rules in September
Several regulatory and pricing changes are set to take effect in India starting September 1.
In aviation, the Bureau of Immigration has updated its procedures for international travelers departing from India. Passengers will no longer require physical stamps on their boarding passes at immigration counters; instead, they can complete the process using electronic boarding passes on mobile devices or printed copies to expedite travel.
In the energy sector, domestic LPG users must complete Aadhaar-based biometric e-KYC by August 31, as the service will no longer be available after that date. Additionally, oil companies will reassess LPG cylinder prices for both domestic and commercial use at the start of the month.
Financial and economic adjustments may also occur, including potential changes to bank fixed deposit (FD) interest rates and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices, which could influence airline operating costs and airfares.
