India to Host 3rd BRICS Transport Ministers Meeting in Nagpur, July 11‑12

India, holding the BRICS chairmanship, will host the third BRICS Transport Ministers Meeting in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on July 11‑12, 2026. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will chair the two‑day summit, which will bring together ministers and senior officials from the eleven BRICS nations.

The agenda focuses on sustainable transport and resilient infrastructure, including topics such as sustainable aviation fuel, urban mobility, multimodal logistics, decarbonisation, and the adoption of AI‑based technologies. Delegates will review progress from earlier meetings hosted by Russia and Brazil and explore new areas of cooperation.

The expanded BRICS grouping – Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates – represents roughly half of the world’s population and about 40 % of global GDP, underscoring the potential impact of enhanced connectivity and logistics efficiency across member countries.
