India to host BRICS ICT Track in Pune to boost digital cooperation

The Indian Department of Telecommunications (DoT) will host a five-day BRICS Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) Track in Pune from August 17 to August 21. This initiative is part of India’s BRICS Chairship for 2026 and aims to strengthen international cooperation in digital ecosystems.

The event will convene communications ministers, senior government officials, and ICT experts from BRICS member nations, including Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. Discussions will focus on developing resilient connectivity, cybersecurity, and human-centric digital environments.

Additional priorities include digital skills, capacity development, and fostering innovation in startups, artificial intelligence, and next-generation communications. As part of this series, India will also host the Digital BRICS Forum and Expo on August 20, 2026, to showcase emerging digital technologies.
