India to host inaugural SCO Civilisation Dialogue Forum in New Delhi
India will host the inaugural SCO Civilisation Dialogue Forum in New Delhi on November 20. Proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the initiative aims to foster civilisational exchanges among Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states, with a specific focus on Indian and Persian civilisations.
The forum's agenda centers on collective welfare for Eurasian and Asian nations, emphasizing regional connectivity, trade, and transit. Alok Dimri, India's SCO National Coordinator, noted that the initiative seeks to address the diverse regional character of the organization through shared prosperity.
In a separate development within the SCO framework, Indian National Coordinator Alok Dimri met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Islamabad during a meeting of the SCO Council of National Coordinators. Despite ongoing bilateral tensions, the meeting facilitated engagement under Pakistan’s chairmanship theme, ‘Turning Vision into Action: Connectivity, Innovation and Shared Prosperity.’ The discussions focused on SCO cooperation, upcoming events, and the implementation of priorities among member states.
