India weather alert: Heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for multiple states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued widespread weather alerts across numerous Indian states due to active monsoon conditions. Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds are expected in several regions, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, and Rajasthan.

In Delhi and the NCR region, forecasts indicate cloudy skies with periods of light to moderate rain. In Uttar Pradesh, heavy rainfall is anticipated in various districts, accompanied by wind speeds reaching 50 to 70 km/h. Bihar is under a yellow alert for several districts, with potential for thunderstorms and lightning.

Mountainous states such as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir have been warned of potential landslides due to continuous precipitation. In Mumbai, light showers are expected with a high probability of rain throughout the day. Other affected areas include Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Odisha.
